Maria M. Lowe, PharmD, BCPS

Director of Pharmaceutical Intelligence

Maria joined ICER as the Director of Pharmaceutical Intelligence in May 2019. In this role, she is responsible for tracking developments in the drug pipeline to advise the ICER team on potential topics of interest.

Prior to joining the ICER team, Maria worked at the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Clinical Pharmacy Services as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist responsible for the development and maintenance of a customized database for tracking pharmaceutical pipeline developments. In 2013, Maria joined the Health Data Integrity team at PatientsLikeMe – an online patient powered research network – as a Health Data and Drug Information Specialist.

Since 2009 she has been invited to serve as an annual guest speaker about drugs in development at a variety of local and national meetings. Maria frequently speaks at the annual conferences for the American Drug Utilization Review Society, the Eastern Medicaid Pharmacy Administrators Association, and the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association. She has also given guest lectures for the Western Medicaid Pharmacy Administrators Association and for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Maria received her PharmD from Northeastern University, completed a two-year fellowship in health outcomes research and pharmacoeconomics, and is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist. Maria is also an artist at heart and loves to spend her free time creating and drawing. She has even taken up a hobby as an amateur book binder, so she has the perfect little notebooks to fill with artistic ideas.
