Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) is a rare, serious, often fatal complication of solid organ transplant (SOT) and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HCST), with only several hundred cases per year reported in the US. The majority of cases of PTLD are associated with the acquisition or reactivation of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) post-transplant due to immunosuppression (also called EBV+ PTLD), and most are of B-cell origin.
