Dr. Bradley Martin is currently Professor and was the founding head of the Pharmaceutical Evaluation and Policy (PEP) Division at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy. The Pharmaceutical Evaluation and Policy division offers graduate and professional instruction and conducts research in pharmacoeconomics, patient reported outcomes, pharmaceutical economics, and large health claims data base analysis. Dr. Martin was or is the Major Advisor for 10 PhD students and 12 M.S. students.
Dr. Martin received his Pharm.D. from the University of Illinois and earned his Ph.D. in Pharmacy Care Administration from the University of Georgia. Dr. Martin’s research efforts have focused on conducting retrospective observational comparative effectiveness and economic analyses using large administrative data sets and national health surveys, conducts policy analyses, and develops cost effectiveness models and has contributed to the understanding of the opioid epidemic. He has contributed to a better understanding of the opioid epidemic and discovered how quickly persons transition from acute to chronic opioid use. Dr. Martin has over 100 peer reviewed manuscripts published which have been collectively cited over 7000 times and his work has been funded by NIH, AHRQ, VA, and a variety of research foundations as well as partnerships with the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Martin contributed to national policy research on health care financing and has lead an international effort to improve the conduct and reporting of CER observational research organized by three national and international associations: ISPOR, NPC, AMCP.
