DeAnna currently serves as Executive Vice President of Strategy & Innovation at the Black Women’s Health Imperative, where she leads enterprise strategy, innovation, organizational transformation, and business operations. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Social Justice & Accountability Officer at RWJBarnabas Health, where she led enterprise initiatives spanning population health, community health, workforce accountability, strategic partnerships, and the social drivers of health. Her career has also included executive leadership roles in nonprofit organizations, education, philanthropy, and New Jersey state government.
An entrepreneur as well as an executive, DeAnna owns two boutique wellness studios and is the Founder and Managing Principal of The D-Development Group, an executive advisory firm supporting healthcare and mission-driven organizations. Across these roles, she brings a unique perspective on health and wellness—from the systems, policies, and institutions that shape health outcomes to the everyday experiences and choices that affect individuals and families.
DeAnna earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Morgan State University and a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University. She is currently completing her Doctor of Business Administration at Concordia University Chicago. She has served on numerous boards and advisory bodies and is a frequent national speaker on healthcare transformation, population health, organizational strategy, innovation, and community impact.
A proud Jersey Girl, DeAnna has been married to her best friend, Daryl, for 31 years, and they are the proud parents of one daughter, Darynn. When she isn’t working to transform organizations or dreaming up her next big idea, she enjoys spending time with her family and embracing the health and wellness principles she has spent much of her career working to advance.
