Heather Guidone, BCPA is responsible for the CEC’s comprehensive multidisciplinary care program, clinical research facilitation, disease education and legislative/public policy endeavors to promote better care for endometriosis and pelvic pain gynepathologies. She also coordinates the CEC’s MIGS/Endometriosis Surgical Fellowship Program. Heather has served the clinical and consumer health industries in various capacities for nearly thirty years and is widely recognized for her work as a Health Educator, CME/Medical Writer, Consultant and Research Co-Investigator/Facilitator. A passionate Board Certified Patient Advocate, she continues to volunteer her time to innumerable collaborative endeavors, serving as an Editorial Board Member, Advisor, non-profit Executive Board Member, international speaker, Scientific Abstract Reviewer and active member of many Councils, Committees, Special Interest Groups and organizations, including but not limited to panels for the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG), the United States Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program and the Medical Research Grant Program of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health/Office on Women’s Health. Heather has contributed to countless books, articles and publications on endometriosis, pelvic pain and women’s health, including most recently the “field defining” academic book, The Palgrave Handbook of Critical Menstruation Studies (Palgrave MacMillan). She remains an engaged member of several professional organizations, continuing her focus on ensuring stakeholder representation in spaces where decisions affecting treatments and policies are being made in order to improve outcomes for future generations.
