Dr. Borah completed bachelors and masters in Statistics from Delhi University, and PhD in Economics from Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana.  His research interests and expertise are broadly in the area of comparative effectiveness research (CER) and the statistical/econometric methods used in CER.  He is the Endowed Scientific Director of the Clinical and Economic Evaluation Program at the Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery at Mayo Clinic, which collaborates with both Mayo and non-Mayo researchers on evaluating health interventions including different health care delivery models, drugs and health technologies.  Dr. Borah teaches courses in CER methods at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, and published over 170 peer-reviewed research articles.

Dr. Borah has been serving as a voting member of the Partnership for Quality Measurement’s (PQM) Endorsement and Maintenance (E&M) Cost and Efficiency Committee. Endorsed quality measures are used by healthcare stakeholders in the U.S. including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid as well as private payers. Dr. Borah also serves as the Chair-elect of the scientific advisory committees for medication adherence and persistence measurement special interest groups at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research.
