Dr. Don Casey currently serves on the faculty of Rush University, and also as adjunct faculty at Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health. He is also affiliate faculty at the University of Minnesota Institute for Health Informatics.
Dr. Casey is a widely published author and expert in healthcare quality. He was formerly the President of the American College of Medicine (ACMQ), which is the organization for healthcare professionals responsible for providing leadership in quality and safety outcomes, who want or need the tools, experience and expertise to improve the quality and safety of patient care. He has also served as Chief of Clinical Affairs for Medecision, a Population Health Management technology solutions subsidiary of Health Care Services Corporation (HCSC).
Prior to Medecision, Dr. Casey was a Managing Director for the Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group. Dr. Casey has also served as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with the Clinically Integrated Network at NYU Langone Medical Center. He was Vice President and system CMO, Chief Quality Officer, Chief Academic Officer and Chief Research Officer for Atlantic Health System (AHS) in New Jersey; system CMO of Catholic Healthcare Partners (now Mercy Health) in Cincinnati, OH and CMO of the Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Maryland and Washington, DC.
A board-certified primary care internist, Dr. Casey has practiced primary care, emergency medicine, and hospital/critical care medicine in a variety of clinical settings for 19 years, including an inner city Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), a 2 physician private office practice, a large internal medicine teaching program group practice and a multispecialty group in a rural community providing full risk/capitated care to Medicaid patients. He has also served as a medical director for long term care, palliative care, geriatric services and home care organizations.
