Dr. Murphy’s work focuses on improving access and quality of endocrinology and diabetes care for low income, diverse populations across California through the development of novel care delivery models, including the use of eConsult as support resource for primary care providers without access to in-person specialty care. In addition, she has worked with the Endocrine Society on improving the referral process as part of the ACP High Value Care Coordination Project and on better incorporating diabetes care into the medical home as a part of the Innovative Models of Care task force.
Dr. Murphy received her BA in chemistry from Wellesley College, her DPhil in biochemistry from Oxford University, and her MD from Harvard Medical School in the Harvard-MIT affiliated Health Sciences and Technology program. She completed her internal medicine internship, residency, and endocrinology fellowship training at UCSF. Previously, Dr. Murphy served as Chief Medical Officer at KineMed Inc., a biotech company focused on the use of stable isotope technology for drug development.
