Robert H. Aseltine, Jr., PhD is a medical sociologist whose current work is focused on the development of innovative health information systems and the utilization of healthcare claims, EHR, and patient reported outcome data for health surveillance and monitoring.  He serves on the advisory boards for CTHealthLink, Connecticut’s first health information exchange, and for Connecticut’s All Payer Claims Database. Over the past 20 years he has led a number of studies investigating mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Institute for Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Department of Defense, the William T. Grant Foundation, and the Connecticut Health Foundation.  Dr. Aseltine received his BA from Wesleyan University and his PhD from the University of Michigan.
